 Dear Parents,                                                                                            September 23, 2010

Week number two has been a success!!! We are all very tired and we are starting to get the "sickies" in our room!! Kids (and us teachers) are starting to come down with colds. For that reason if you are able to send in hand sanitizer...please do!!! We GREATLY appreciate it!! Another thing that got left off the supply list was an extra set of clothes. If you could, please send in an extra set of clothes (pants, shirt, underwear and socks) in a Ziploc bag with your child's name on it. THANK YOU!!!

This is another reminder, as papers are starting to come home, to save your Box Tops, Campbell's Soup labels, and Capri Sun pouches to return to school. Our school earns money/points for these items. You can send them in Ziploc baggies and I will take care of them for you! Thank you!

Curriculum night is on Monday night, September 27th from 7:00-8:00 pm. I hope you can all make it! We will be discussing our curriculums we are going to be using this year in Kindergarten. There is a spaghetti feed before (5:45-6:45 pm) curriculum night in the cafeteria. This is an Outdoor School Fundraiser for our 5th grade students.

Along the lines of curriculum night I wanted to let you know that we've been working on the letter "A" this week in class. Your child should now be able to recognize the letter "A" and "a" and be able to tell you the sound that it makes.

I have had a lot of parents interested in volunteering. I am overjoyed to have so many volunteers. I am going to be coming up wth a "schedule" for all of our volunteersl We are also going to be starting up a SMART program for Kindergarten students this year. This program requires A LOT of volunteers. The SMART program is looking for volunteers to help on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:15-9:15 to read with Kindergarten kids. This program will serve all three Kindergarten classes. PLEASE let me know if you are intested as there is another volunteer form for you to fill out!! THANK YOU!!

SNACKS: I appreicate the "whole class" snacks that you have brought in. We are always in need of scnacks!!! Thank you in advance!!

Upcoming Events:
Setpember 27--Curriculum night (7:00-8:00 pm)
October 7--NO SCHOOL

Enjoy your weekend!!!

Dear Parents,                                                                                                                    September 10, 2010

I hope that you are all having a great beginning to the school year. I know I am anxious to get started and to get to know each and every one of your kiddos. This week will be much different than most weeks. We are going to be going over lots of rules and what we do at school each day.

I know it is early but I would like to remind you now to start saving those Box Tops. You can find Box Tops on different items that you purchase at the grocery store (Ziploc baggies, Hamburger Helper boxes, etc.) Please save them and return them to school if you have any!! At the end of the school year the class with the most receives a prize. THANKS~

I am sending home bookorders. Please feel free to order, or not!! Bookorders will be due September 20th. I am attaching a flier to the bookorders with the ordering information on them. It is also on the Bookorder Page on our website.

If you haven't brought your child's school supplies in, you can do that at any point this week. The most important thing would be their folders and this is what we'll use as our communication from school to home and vise versa! I will let you know throughout the year if we are running low on any supplies!! Thank you for your help!

Snacks...please send a snack daily with your child. If you would rather send in a "class snack" then your child will be entitled to that snack as well!! Please feel free to send in "class snack" whenever you choose!

We are lucky enough to have a student teacher in our classroom this fall. I would like to welcome Ms. Amanda Rinehart to our classroom! She is a Linfield student teacher and she will be here through the beginning of December. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me!
